About Our Staff

Our mission is to provide quality, innovative summer day camp instruction and activities for middle school-aged kids who thrive in a lively environment. Unlike other camps, our staff consists of experienced, certified middle school educators who embrace the unique qualities of the adolescent child.

Raising the Bar Creative Concepts offers programs for your school and family. Raising the Bar is dedicated to designing and delivering adolescent-education programs to enrich the mind, character and spirit.

Raising the Bar was created in 2007 with the specific goal of providing a variety of quality educational programs for middle-school aged children. While there are many programs for toddlers and elementary school children, there are almost no programs that cater strictly to the middle-schooler. Additionally, many of the programs that are available are more fluff than substance – a lot of bells and whistles, but not a lot of fact and substance.

Quite simply, Raising the Bar’s programs are better because they are created and taught by veteran middle school teachers who know not only the facts and skills critical for middle school success, but also how to engage and entertain the at times difficult teen to ‘tween demographic. Research shows time and time again that kids learn best and have a better chance of retaining information when they are interested and actively involved in the educational experience. Every program we offer is learner-centered and hands-on, and is facilitated by a certified middle school teacher.

Our programs are unique because we strive to educate the whole child. We know there’s more to life than school, so we offer programs in areas other than traditional academics such as nutrition, cooking, and etiquette. After all, good grades will carry a child far in school, but a healthy lifestyle, good manners and strong interpersonal communication skills will benefit a child for life.
