You’re on vacation in Mexico, strolling through the Mayan Ruins at Chichen Itza, and you suddenly realize it was probably not a good idea to sample every type of enchilada on the hotel’s all-you-can-eat buffet earlier in the day. You glance around, but there are no signs to point you in the right direction. The sun beats down, your mind races, your stomach churns, and you thank your lucky stars that your middle school student has been taking Spanish for several years and is able to run over to the tour guide and ask, "Donde esta el bano?"
Studies show that learning and practicing a foreign language benefits students in multiple ways. Help keep your middle-schooler’s language skills strong with Raising the Bar’s summer Spanish program for students ages 12-14. Our curriculum and materials are geared specifically to teen interests, level and particular needs. Instead of filling out worksheets and reading textbooks, students will have the opportunity to practice their Spanish conversation and listening skills in real-life situations.
